What the map measures
Holdings distinctness
Each fund's positive-weight stock sleeve is normalized to 100%. Shared weight is the sum of the smaller normalized position in every common stock; distinctness is 100 minus that value. A fund farther right owns a more different equity sleeve.
Effective stock breadth
The inverse sum of squared normalized stock weights. It discounts tiny positions and reveals when a long holdings list is still driven by a small group of companies.
Effective sector breadth
The same concentration logic applied to classified sectors. Unclassified exposure is excluded, and a fund appears on this axis only when at least 95% of its analyzed equity sleeve has a sector classification.
The chart analyzes positive-weight equity positions only. Cash, derivatives, and other non-equity assets are excluded. Quadrants describe this filtered peer set, not investment quality. Holdings can carry different as-of dates. Read the complete methodology and limitations before using the map in a decision.
